January in Oklahoma

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

I’ve been having some trouble here in Oklahoma. I recently learned the groundskeeper for my apartment was involved in a traffic accident, and will be in the hospital for some time. Her brother has taken her job, and has been watching over the apartments for the past few days, and will continue to do so until she returns.

She was always friendly to me, but her brother is driving me crazy. He seems to enjoy hanging out in my apartment, and has been eating all the food in the fridge. He’s very immature, and any time not spent eating the food has been spent talking about his stupid teenage years as a football player. I’ve been trying to get rid of him, but my roommate seems to have befriended the man, and the two of them are taking part in some pointless “get rich quick” schemes.

Fortunately, I’ve met this new guy at work, who’s very friendly, and has the nicest car I’ve seen in a while. He takes it off-road whenever possible, but I haven’t yet gotten the courage to ask to try it myself. This new friend is very courageous, and has taken it upon himself to work his way up the corporate ladder at the office, even talking about becoming president of the corporation. I think it’s possible, if he puts his mind to it.

Anyway, there’s this new girl at work, and she seems pretty friendly, too. I’ve thought about asking to take her picture, but I can’t ever get the lighting right. I think I might buy a present for her instead, or perhaps buy something delicious for her.

Apartment Pano

For the time being, I’ve decided to show off one of my latest editing efforts, which is a panoramic picture of the apartment where I live. It took me something around three or four hours to do all the stitching, from the original fish-eye images to this final 360 degree view. I hope you enjoy. Please be warned: it’s a 15MB file: it will take a while to download it.

Otherwise, there is not much else new with me. Things continue on as they have been for the past four months, and I still enjoy the work I do. I hope to continue being challenged in my faith, my maturity level, and my skills. And I mean that last part in a totally non-Napoleon Dynamite way.

“Anyway, there’s this new girl at work…”

I SO told you! HAhahahahaa.

Awesome, David, I hope it grows into something great for ya! :p

Ma Says:

You have the strangest sense of humor of almost anyone I know! Next thing you know, you’ll adopt a llama and keep it penned out back behind your apartment!

I see that you’re drinking skim milk…..

Carm Says:

TINA, come get your ham, you lazy lard!

Tiffany Says:

What’s the bass like in Oklahoma?

medhead Says:

My apartment is in the far left building, where the name “David B. Louden Memorial Guest House” is located. The living room is the left window, and my room is the right window.

Nathan, it’s often hard for me to understand the emotion behind text, so I can’t tell whether you’re being serious or facetious.

Nathan Says:

I was being serious. I take it that you weren’t, and there is not a new girl at work. Frankly, I just took that statement at face value. I haven’t seen Napoleon Dynamite, so if it was a reference to that film, it totally blew by me. Sorry if I was obtuse, lol.

medhead Says:

Ah. Most of the post was a reference to the plot of Napoleon Dynamite. Only the stuff after the panoramic image thumbnail is true.
