David Hepworth: An Autobiography

Obviously you’re intending to steal my identity. Admit it. The only reason you bothered clicking on the link to learn more about me is because you think I have money that you can take from me. Guess what - I don’t. So just click the Back button on your browser and find another candidate. However, if for some odd reason you actually want to learn more about me, then coincidentally, you have come to the right place (or in this case, page).

I was born in the town of Owosso, Michigan on April 4, 1983. I have blue eyes, blond hair, blah blah blah. I am the first born child in a family of six children (meaning I have five siblings - keep up with me here). I am a “Born Again, Bible Thumping Believer.” I have been raised to follow what is written in the Bible, and avoid such pitfalls as attempting to fit into a “religion” or denomination. However, if you are unwilling to grasp such a concept, well, I guess you’ll suffer.

I am an absolutist. I have trouble seeing shades of grey, or ideas that don’t have a clear black and white, right or wrong answer. I don’t really think there are such matters: when someone feels there is a grey area, I find it’s often because the person is unwilling to accept the right answer, due to laziness or fearfulness. I have also found that I can be somewhat blunt in my statements because of my viewpoints on what is right and what is wrong. Most people don’t appreciate the bluntness (how perplexing).

Since around the age of seven I have been homeschooled by my mother. Before that time I had attended a small private Christian school called Liberty Christian Academy (don’t bother looking for it, it’s history). While I enjoyed being around children my age for most the day, I found myself held back too often, and frustrated with the methods used to teach the classes. Because of the frustrations, my parents suggested homeschooling, which I heartily accepted. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Homeschooling allows for more intensive studies focused on individual skills of each student. But I digress.

I am very interested in web design, photography, and digital imaging. I have taken nearly three years of college studies at Baker College, where I worked on a major of Web Design. Due to the relatively small size of the college and poor selection of techonology instructors, I found the curriculum lacking, and ended my studies at the college before graduation (no, I didn’t fail). I found teaching myself the studies out of the same books used at the college (or merely via the Internet) was a much better method of education for me. On the photography front, I spent over two years in a photo lab department, where I gained a reputation as an excellent photo processor and trustworthy sales associate. I have since moved on, now armed with a better grasp on color theory and social skills.

With the experience (and an extreme amount of help from Jesus, no doubt), I gained the necessary skills to begin the framework of my own business, Flagman Design Studio. It is with this business that I hope to one day aid missionaries overseas in their continued effort to spread the Gospel. I plan on sending money over to missionaries from the successful business transactions I make from my business. I pray that with my cheerful giving, my business will excel, allowing me to donate even more to the mission field.

I have no wife (so obviously, no children). I don’t see marriage in my future… I think I need more time growing in the Lord before that happens. I feel I am not mature enough to handle such matters, and I don’t know if I really want to. No, this is not an offer; I figured I might as well put it in here. Bachelorhood doesn’t sound bad, really. Cuz then I can gets mah hood all pimped up and lookin’ dope, ya’ll. And whatnot.

Which brings me to the next topic. I have an odd sense of humor; somewhat dry and sarcastic. Not everyone understands it… but there are many things people don’t understand about me. I don’t necessarily embrace that weirdness: it’s just a part of who I am. And I believe it is you who are going to have to get used to that, since I already have. Understood?

Well, that’s about it. That’s my autobiography. Get it wherever leaflets are sold.
